Are we really hearing the Gospel preached TODAY? 06/01 by NJITS | Religion Podcasts: 2 Tim 2:8 (NIV) Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel. The gospel is a message. It is also referred to in Scripture as a 'word', a 'doctrine', a 'seed', the 'good news', 'the truth'. Because God uses the message of the gospel to reconcile men to himself, it must be taught, heard, understood, believed, confessed and defended. The Message is That Jesus is The Christ, that He Was Crucified, and Rose Again! 1 Cor 15:1-4 (NIV) Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you have received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.
